School meals

School meals are provided free of charge to children. At Hujjat Primary School, we encourage a family dining experience and do not encourage packed lunches, except for those children with anxiety issues or special educational needs. Our catering company ABM Catering supplies HMC certified meals, alongside a vegetarian option and a jacket potato/pasta option.

Parents choose their child’s meal for the day via Arbor.

Please collect a form from the School Office or visit https://www.gov.uk/apply-free-school-meals to determine eligibility for Free School Meals.

Healthy Snacks Fresh fruit is provided daily for all children in Reception and KS1 and we recommend parents provide a healthy snack of fruit or vegetables only for children in KS2.

Milk is provided free of charge to all children under the age of 5, and there is an option to purchase milk for those children over the age of 5.

Parents - Cool Milk Water Bottles

As a healthy school we encourage your child to drink water throughout the day and all children are encouraged to bring a labelled, reusable water bottle to school. Please do not send canned drinks or juice cartons/bottles in with your child.

Allergies
We would like to remind you that we are an Allergy Aware School due to the fact that there are a number of students in our school community who have a severe, life-threatening allergies.

This includes, but is not limited to, severe allergies to the following items:

  • All or any nuts including Peanut Butter,  Nut oils, Nut flavourings
  • Kiwi

Simply touching, eating, inhaling or cross contamination of these items can provide a severe allergic reaction and, in some cases can cause life-threatening Anaphylactic Shock. If your child has eaten nuts or any nut containing products before coming to school, please ensure your child's hands and face have been thoroughly washed with warm soapy water before entering the school building. Please ensure your child does not bring in any of the above items to school or on trips including Kiwi as a fruit snack to reduce the risk of allergic reactions in children with allergies.

Whole School Lunch Menu:

  • The school uses Arbor to book for lunches. Parents are requested to book children's meals directly via Arbor. (Please see below instructions on how to book).
  • The menu is now available for Parents and  Carers to book on Arbor.
  • Lunch orders must completed by 9:00 am (Monday to Friday) as we need to finalize numbers with our caterers.
  • Please select one main meal per day for all 3 weeks.
  • You do not need to select the desserts, as this is a free-choice for children.
  • Please note that any child without a meal choice selected will be automatically allocated a RED lunch for that day.
  • We encourage all children to have a school meal. Packed lunches are not allowed unless authorized by the Head teacher.
