In Reception Classes, Busy Fingers forms the start of our day at 8.45am. Each morning children take part in an activity designed to strengthen their fine-motor skills.
Registration is at 8.45am for KS1 and KS2 and 8.45am for Reception, after which children engage in planned lessons either from the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework or the National Curriculum. Lessons will continue in all subject areas throughout the day from our broad and balanced curriculum.
Reading is an essential building block to all future learning. In Reception and KS1, children are taught phonics, a method of learning to read words. In addition to this KS1 and KS2 have daily guided reading sessions, where they also learn comprehension skills to ensure they understand what they read.
'In the remembrance of God the heart finds Peace' (Qur'an 13:28) At Hujjat Primary, we draw on children's innate sense of awe and wonder to nurture their relationship with God.
We promote a family dining experience where children and staff come together at midday, offering prayers of gratitude before and after eating a healthy and nourishing meal. We offer a HMC Halal certified menu.
Children have planned opportunities for Physical Development daily as well as PE lessons during the week. Tuesdays is PE day for Reception, Tuesdays and Fridays for Year 1 and Thursdays and Fridays for Year 2 and Year 3. Children come to school dressed in their PE kits on their PE days.
The school day ends with reflection and story time. Children are collected from their classroom doors at 3.15pm for EYFS, KS1 and KS2, with a chance for parents to speak to the class teacher.
